Silk Investment Advisors is an investment advisory firm located in Medfield, Massachusetts, focusing on its proprietary Cash Rich Fallen Angel (CRFA) strategy.  I, Marc Silk, specialize in discovering, thoroughly researching and building positions at a price that attempts to limit downside risk by using this CRFA strategy. This unique investment philosophy was developed by my father, Charles Silk, who was once called by Peter Lynch "The Worlds' Greatest Amateur Investor" in the May 1994 edition of Worth Magazine.  In 1998, my father and I created C. Silk & Sons Financial Services.  Then in 2011, I transitioned the business to an investment advisory model and from there, Silk Investment Advisors was born.  I have no investment banking relationships, allowing me the freedom of totally independent research.

This investment philosophy involves a multi-step process which identifies stocks with significant upside potential while attempting to minimize downside risk. I look for undervalued companies in the market place whose stock has had a severe decline in price over a relatively short period of time. I then look for balance sheets consisting of an abundance of cash and short-term investments. A sizeable cash position can provide a safety net to protect the investor's principal and minimize the downside risk. The next step is to investigate the company in depth to see whether the decline was a temporary aberration and that the security exhibits potential for a turnaround in the near future. I also analyze technical trading patterns to determine attractive entry price points. This unique style, employing extensive research, provides my clients with the confidence in my selections.
